Welcome to My Newsletter

On Friday the Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library hosted a Meet-the-Author Tea for me, and it was a lovely event. They had coffee and tea in big urns, real china cups and spoons, elegant silver pots of milk and sugar, and trays of cookies--a warm and welcoming repast with friendly, gracious hostesses.

There was an excellent turn-out for the event. Around thirty or more book-lovers, many of them writers themselves, attended. I spent the half-hour before the meeting sitting down with my cup of tea and introducing myself to as many folks as possible, one after another, giving us a chance to get to know each other a bit.

For the reading from WHERE THE LAKE BECOMES THE RIVER, I chose an out of body experience, which listeners seemed to enjoy--one person said she'd had such an experience of her own, and felt my account was accurate. Others were also interested in the subjects of leaving the body, altered states, dreams and immortality, and a lively discussion
ensued. Afterwards a Library Friend said it was one of the liveliest Author Teas they've had.

I love libraries (see latest Blog entry), and this was one of the most enjoyable readings I've done yet.
Thanks to all who were able to attend.

All the best,
